Law is a system of rules and guidelines, usually enforced through a set of institutions.

Ethics

Ethics, also known as moral philosophy, is a branch of philosophy that addresses questions about morality—that is, concepts such as good and evil, right and wrong, virtue advice, justice, etc.

Computer Technology

Computer Technology refers to the design, construction and programming of computers.

The law is the implementation of ethics, protects individual rights, protects ethical values of the society. Law is also the floor to ethics. When you obey the law, you've done the right thing to do. So when you apply law and ethics to computer technology, it is up to you on how you will deal with the personal information you've acquired in the computer. If you do it for bad things, you will suffer the consequences of what you've done.
